If you’re like most people, chicken is on your menu more than a few times a month. One of the things that would make that meal a cinch to prepare would be easy chicken recipes.

Chicken, obviously, will be your key ingredient, but you’d be surprised what other things go along great with your chicken and make it a great meal. Sweet, sour, spicy, fried, baked, lemon, orange – there are lots of choices when it comes to preparing a great chicken entrée.

Your choice of cut also can make for an easy chicken recipe. Dark meat like the thigh can be juicier than say the white meat of the breast. Baking, of course, gives you a different flavor than frying your chicken. You can easily make either recipe; it just depends on the type of meal you’re trying to prepare.

If you decide to fry your chicken, you need to be careful about the type of oil, and how much. There are ways to get a fried chicken flavor and crunch without actually frying your chicken. Coating your chicken in mayonnaise, or plain yogurt, or egg batter, or beer, can help obtain that fried chicken flavor. Dipping it in crushed cereal, like Cornflakes, or dried bread crumbs (and yes, you can make your own), gives you the crunch of the fried chicken.

Looking for an easy chicken recipe? You can’t go wrong with the tried and true Campbell’s Soup recipes on the back of almost any can of Mushroom or Chicken based soup. Usually, you can fix everything in one dish and pop it in the oven for a quick and easy, all-in-one, meal.

Grill a chicken breast on your George Foreman Grill or buy the pre-packaged version at your local grocer, toss it with your favorite salad greens and dressing and you’ve just created your very own restaurant grilled chicken salad. Caesar dressings all pretty much have the same ingredients, and therefore the same taste, so that makes for an easy chicken salad.

Cold chicken can easily be diced, added to mayonnaise, a cut up boiled egg, try a little grape or cut up apple and you’ve just created your own chicken salad. Serve on a bed of lettuce if you’re watching your carbs, or go ahead and make a chicken salad sandwich.

It really is just a matter of planning that makes for an easy chicken recipe. Hot, cold, diced, chunked, grilled, white meat or dark – it’s your choice. Give it a try for lunch or dinner. You’ll be happy you came up with a quick alternate to the same old tried and true recipes.
